Have your list of questions ready and with you before you call!
Have a pen and a notebook at the ready!

Questions to consider:
  1. Does my application require any additional materials that you have not received?
  2. How can I (if it is possible) schedule an interview with you (or the admission office)?
  3. Are any open houses coming up?
  4. Are there specific items that you look at on my (midyear or final) transcript?
  5. Do you sponsor visits to your campus?
  6. Are there any upcoming events in the near future?
  7. Remember, to be polite and cordial.
In your college application journal:
  1. record the name and title of the person you speak
  2. write down the date and time of the call
  3. also take note of the number you dialed (also, if you use a telephone tree like "Press 1 to speak to admissions..."
Don't forget to thank the person for taking their time to speak with you.
